Our story
Our preschool opened in May 1968, initially for the children of St Andrews Presbyterian Church as well as being an outreach into the community of Manurewa. It has continued over the years to provide a Christian, licensed and chartered preschool facility for Manurewa and the community beyond. The Centre closed for two years and reopened in 2009 as a joint venture with Manukau Christian Charitable Trust. It is now being run by St Andrews Church.
Our values
Love God, Love people, Love learning.
Love God
We believe the Bible is the Word of God and our desire is that Biblical truths should permeate in truth and action into all our teaching and learning.
We are devoted, through the instruction of biblical truth, to raise a generation who know the praiseworthy deeds of the Lord, His power, and the wonders He has done. ( Psalm 72:4)
We are committed to model Christ-like qualities in all our interactions so that the love of God would be seen, heard and experienced at our Centre.
Love People
We believe that each child is a precious gift from God, created in His own image and ought to be loved, cherished and nurtured in the way they should go.

Allergies
St Andrews Preschool is committed to supporting children with allergies, catering to their needs and supporting their families whilst in the Centre.
We currently support children with allergies including dairy, egg, nuts and gluten intolerances. The teaching team is committed to working alongside parents and family members to ensure every precaution is taken for their child so that he/she is able to fully participate in the preschool programme especially with the cooking programme.
Our staff
Languages
Our staff speak many languages, including English, Maori, Sign Language, Samoan, Hindi, Urdu, Punjabi, Fijian, Mandarin, Cantonese, Tamil, German and more…
Optional Donations
Our goal is to provide a top-level standard of care. One of the ways we try to do this is by maintaining a high staff-to-child ratio. The ratio we maintain (1:7) is actually higher than what is required by the Ministry of Education (1:10). In order to maintain this level of staffing and care, we rely on the gracious generosity of parents and supporters. All donations are tax-deductible.
